Lonely Production is founded by producer/director Michal Sikora.
Michal set off on his filmmaking journey by making a short film as a one-man crew in the small city of Třinec, Czech Republic. The film was widely popular amongst locals and inspired Michal to further pursue his craft.
From there, he went to Finland to shoot another film—again, without a crew. For Michal, the experience was an intense dive into the fundamentals of the filmmaking process. The shoot was overrun with many difficulties and hardships that taught him key lessons about his craft. Attending FAMU—one of the most prestigious film schools in Europe —Michal further developed his craft, working on numerous local as well as international projects before forming his own production company, Lonely Production.
Lonely Production has recently produced: “Kanya”, a short film shot on location in India and Czech Republic. Currently, Lonely Production is a producing partner on a Czech-Chinese feature film titled “Till Love Do Us Part”, directed by Ran Li.
In addition to his production work, Michal continues to direct as well. He directed the documentary 15 years of Letní Letná about the internationally renowned festival for New Circus and theatre. He is currently working on a script with Barbora Saxová for his directorial feature film debut: “Battle of Bus Drivers”.
By giving a voice to people around the world with stories to tell, Michal aims to connect and inspire others… and just maybe, make the world a little less lonely.
