Giant Swordfish Thriller “Malice”

Malice follows three men who go on the hunt for a nearly extinct giant swordfish. Haunted by a violent past involving the death of the captain’s son by the swordfish, Malice explores darker avenues of human psychology as the men become increasingly isolated in open waters.

“Nowadays, we value a peaceful civil lifestyle in which we strive to become our ideal selves, but what if there is an alternative in which we can face and co-exist with the killer instincts we are born with, and live so without bias?” asks Lungyim Lim in a director’s statement.

A former student of FAMU International in Prague, Lim made a number of award-winning short films before his breakout feature, Ohong Village (2019). With write-ups in Variety and Film New Europe, Lim’s next film is hotly anticipated.

Malice is scheduled to shoot in late 2023.
