In post-annexation Ukraine, a son's quest to uncover the truth behind his father's disappearance entangles him in a dangerous legacy of crime, betrayal and hidden Soviet secrets.

synopsis
Years after the annexation of Crimea, 24-year-old Misha returns to his Ukrainian hometown to attend the funeral of his estranged father, who abandoned him when he was a child.
But when he discovers a stranger's body inside the coffin, it becomes clear that the funeral has been staged and his father has disappeared once again.
Searching for answers, Misha is drawn into his father's hidden past and a shadowy world of provincial mobsters. He gradually uncovers his father's involvement in arms theft during the withdrawal of the Soviet military and finds himself caught between unresolved childhood trauma, old relationships and an increasingly dangerous criminal world.
As the truth emerges, Misha realizes that the legacy left by his father may be far greater — and more dangerous — than he can carry.
“Three Weeks Under the Sea is a deeply personal exploration of identity, memory, and the haunting grip of the past.”
